As promised a couple of important updates to our Year end special at Ashton Ukrainian Club !! The Steward has very kindly agreed to a 1am finish, which is great news and allows us to add Team Ukrainian "Fixer" Simon Ingham into the DJ line up !!! Just a small request, looking like a real busy event, if everyone could take their drinks glasses back to the bar, it would be a massive help TIA!! This Saturday December 14th, now running 7pm-1am and an unbeatable £5 pay on the door gets you Six Hours of the best music on the planet!! Many thanks to Ashton Debutant Natalie Nicholls doing a sterling effort promoting the event, look forward to some Dance Floor Dynamite!!! Natalie's Partner in crime Alan Jenkins will also be an hour to look forward to, click on the link for a sample of his Quality Spins, or take a listen to Dean Anderson's - Sound of Soul Show from last week, amazing stuff!! Talking of which The Man From Newark Dean Anderson is our final guest and surprisingly another debutant DJ some amazing exclusives coming at you and then some!! Phil Dunn will be opening the proceedings and looks to be in for a busy night on the door!! Look forward to Lord Ashton AKA Chris Churm and Simon Ingham double decking for a fitting end to an unbelievable year and myself Mick Howard completing a pretty special line up!! We have a few Ashton First Timers coming down, you will not be disappointed with the Little Venue with a Big Heart and that indefinable Atmosphere, all created by The Ashton Faithful, from the bottom of our hearts a massive thank you!! xx Did I say get there early? (I'll just think it) !! See everybody Saturday !!3 points

This will be our last Sunday Soul Session at Castle. I would just like to thank the club & all its staff for looking after us for the past 2 years, you have been wonderful. When Roger & I started our Sunday Soul Sessions, the concept was to give DJs/collectors who don't have a residency an opportunity to share there tracks in a friendly environment all on vinyl. Since then the afternoons have gone from strength to strength with some excellent sets being put together. Can I thank everyone who has ever attended & wish them a Merry Christmas & hope to see you next year at The Winnington Rec every 2nd Saturday of the month, remember everyone is welcome.3 points

Correctamundo...I've been playing this out for a while, IMHO it's brilliant! The other track which is an R&B stormer is 'Tell Me (Where I Stand)' (which I'll post later) and was actually issued on the 'B' side of Chris Kings I Can't Get Enough UK Soul City 45 release. Another in the playbox3 points

So, full DJ line up in both rooms tonight and each one has something 'a bit special' to play for your foot moving or just foot tapping enjoyment, whether it be a four-to-the-floor stormer or a cool groove...so, as always at CULCHETH, expect something to massage the aural senses... Think this could be mine...2 points

Sorry I’ve not posted sooner but after my visit to East Lancs I was knackered It was a brilliant night very busy and the music was top notch through out. I’m not going to mention the many friends that were there as I would be here all day. What I will repeat is what I said over the mic when I took other from Simon. Mick, Max, Nick, Lisa, Mick H and Alex have turned the Boat into probably the best Friday Soul night in the country. Looking forward to seeing you all in January1 point

We're into December, not far off the event and as we like to do start of the week, a wake up call from Alan Jenkins. A record originally played as far back as the latter days of Wigan, courtesy of Gary Rushbrook and has remained rare and always in demand with collectors and the dancers !!1 point
